Filtered Through Blue by Jennifer Bramseth is the second book in The Bourbon Spring Series. This book is a story of empowerment. It takes a lot of inner strength to overcome a painful past and a cheating husband. Loved how Hannah did not let her life experiences or what others said about her affect how she viewed her self. Ms. Bramseth created a great character in Hannah. Overcoming obstacles along the way Hannah faces her demons with grace. Love may just prove to be an added bonus. Received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

The Billionaire's Fantasy - Part 1 (The Forbidden Series) by Kate Hewitt
My rating: 3 of 5 star
Javien and Louise's story is an interesting one. Louise is working toward gaining back her sense of self-confidence and Javien is trying to redeem himself after youthful bad decisions he made. The Billionaire's Fantasy-Part 1 is a good start to the series but I found the story too short and rushed. I received this book for an honest review.

Bride on the Run is a unique ending to a fun series. A cute story that contains mystery, drama, romance and comedy. The combination equals out to an entertaining and fun read. Serena has been in hiding most of her life this has made her a strong woman with trust issues. Boone is used to looking out for himself. They meet under hilarious circumstances that turn serious very quickly. Can Boone be the hero Serena needs? Will she let him?

The Billionaire's Intern (The Forbidden Series) by Maisey Yates

So I finally got to read The Billionaire's Intern in its entire. Another stimulating Maisey Yates read. Maisey takes us on a dark journey of love between two cynics. Logan is used to being in control and Addison is the one thing that can make him lose that. Addison is trying process events and secrets that have just been revealed. Complicated characters that little by little and piece by piece expose their pains and strengths in a compelling read.

Married for Amari's Heir is a story that deals with atonement for sins, owning up to mistakes, dealing with past hurts and learning the meaning of true love. Charity and Rocco are unexpectedly presented with the makings of the one thing they have lacked and secretly craved all along. A family. A beautifully written heartstrings pulling emotion filled read.

Crystal Caress (The Drakes of California #6) by Zuri Day
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Crystal Caress is a tale of two people that have to learn to put trust and instinct before anger and pride. Have read a couple of Ms. Day's books in the past. Did not enjoy them as much as I enjoyed Teresa and Atka's story. I thought that it took a lot of strength of character for Teresa to strike out on her own. To try to become her own person without relying on family. What both characters had to learn is that sometimes seeking guidance can be the best decision any person can make. Good book.

Pursued by the Rogue by Kelly Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Kelly Hunter's story of unrequited love, low self esteem and being true to yourself is a winner in my book. Dawn is one of those characters that you think you have figured out but as you dig deeper you discover that you weren't even close. Finn comes across as an easygoing guy but he has hidden layers as well. My favorite kind of story is a book that deals with serious problems and subjects but not in an overly preachy way. Pursued by the Rogue did exactly that.
