A Perfect Wife has the formula of many other stories that I come across regularly. Bitter man full of determination. Desperate woman with no where to turn. At first that turned me off, but you know what? Ms. LaFever made it work for her. She turned an overly done storyline into one that simmered with tension and an underlying tenderness that I found appealing. This author is one I am keeping an eye on. She took a story of anger and heartbreak and made it into a truly superb work of art. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
