Release Date: November 12, 2016
SYNOPSIS
Widowed judge and single parent Cara Forrest lives a grief-filled existence, sustained by the light of her life, her young son. She has no time or inclination to lose her heart again—especially to the likes of Drake Mercer, the rakish attorney who appears in her court on a weekly basis. She knows that such a man has the power to sweep her away, just like the rapid waters of Old Crow Creek that cut through Craig County, Kentucky. Power that can bring life—as well as devastation.
But Drake is completely distracted by the sad and beautiful judge. After an intense encounter, he gently pursues Cara, and successfully makes his case for her heart.
Yet when they do find each other, Cara’s unexpected opportunity for higher office and false rumors about the ethics of their relationship threaten a fragile love. The choice is theirs: whether to be sustained by love or allow themselves to be pulled apart by the currents of doubt.
Water of Life is the ninth and final book in the Bourbon Springs Series.

REVIEW: WATER OF LIFE (BOURBON SPRINGS) BY JENNIFER BRAMSETH
Water of Life by Jennifer Bramseth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bourbon Springs is a series I will look back on with fond memories. It was my introduction to an author that blends wise words and coming of age storytelling with relatable main characters and emotive tales. It's hard to say goodbye to what in my opinion is a profound body of work, but it's time to move on. So isn't it fitting that Ms. Bramseth centered the final story in this series around that very message.
Cara has obtained much in her life. She has managed to carve out a great career for herself while finding love and starting a family. When tragedy bursts into her life, Cara loses more than just her soulmate, she loses pieces of herself along the way. What's a widowed single parent to do but pick up the pieces and try to keep going? As so often happens moving on requires some touch choices and surprising twists. The toughest decision of all becomes if she's ready to leave behind the memories of the past, in order to take a chance on a flesh and blood future. The one constant in life is change I'm ready to get to experience more wonderful characters and life lessons with Jennifer Bramseth. Water of Life is the end of something special but the beginning of something wonderful.
