Whitney has become one of my favorite authors in a short amount of time. She delights with sassy characters that tickle the funny bone and melts your heart and makes a point while doing so. Tempting Talk flirts it's way past your defenses with laugh out loud dialogue, captivating characters and tempting storytelling. Jake and Mabel both have something to prove to themselves and the world around them, that may end up costing them more than they could possibly know. Sandor has a gift for speaking to the most vulnerable part of a person. Whether with laughter or deep emotion, her stories take aim at involving readers heartfirst before appealing to anything else. Georgie is a character that sets out to make you laugh to cover up the insecurities that hide underneath her smile. Jordan uses realism to shield his own inner feelings of doubt. Own the Eights is more than just a light-hearted romp for laughs. It's a deeply moving pathway of finding truth and living life at it's best. Humor that tackles real emotion is great storytelling.
